Though it's a solid entry to the staid genre, World Rally is a bit too kid friendly to recommend to anyone who reads past a fifth-grade level. Sure, Pac-Man and friends peel out povverslides with multiple-color exhaust just like in a Mario Kart 64 but the colors vary in this game, and the item boxes are different shades!
But you know what? Mario Kart's game play is nearly flaw less, and Pac-Man World Rally wisely simulates the better elements of that classic series. It has particularly strong course design, and the whole -Man vibe characters gobble fruits and ghosts aplenty extends its appeal.
I'd be thrilled to find this game in a cereal box. Like these other guys said, in a world already choked with mascot kart racers, -Man World Rally doesn't do much to stand out.
The developers didn't even bother to switch around the colors and functions of the shells Red ones track the car ahead of you, blue ones take out the leader, and greens are dumbfire.
